Refractive index of lens, μ2=32

focal length of lens, f1=25cm

Refractive index of water, μ1=43

(i) when lens is in air;

1f1=(μ21)[1R11R2]

125=(321)[1R11R2]

1R11R2=125.....(1)

(ii) when in water

1f=(μ2μ11)[1R11R2]

=(3/24/31)×225

=(981)×225

=18×225=1100

f=100cm=1m
