Given equation is x+y=1
We know that
x=XcosθYsinθ
y=Xsinθ+Ycosθ
(cosθ+sinθ)X+(cosθsinθ)Y=1
(3+1)2X+(13)2Y=1 .....(i)
According to problem, we have
Xa+Yb=1 .....(ii)
1a=(3+1)2
1b=(13)2
So, 1a2+1b2=2
