Solution

The correct option is C

Glomerular filteration → selective reabsorption → tubular secretion

Urine formation takes place in three steps namely, glomerular filtration, selective reabsorption and tubular secretion. In the first step, blood containing nitrogenous wastes is filtered through a tuft of capillaries called glomerulus. This is followed by selective reabsorption of glucose, amino acids etc. in the proximal convoluted tubule, loop of Henle and the distal Convoluted tubule. The last process in the formation of urine is tubular secretion, wherein waste products like urea, drugs, creatinine, some ions etc are secreted from the blood to the filtrate. This filtrate then enters the collecting tubules where more water is reabsorbed. This can now be called urine which is hypertonic to the blood plasma.
