Cost of $2 \frac{3}{4}$ metres of cloth $=$ Rs. $583$

Cost of $1$ metre of cloth,

$= \frac{1 \times 583}{2 \frac{3}{4}}$

$= \frac{583}{\frac{11}{4}}$

$= 583 \times \frac{4}{11} = 53 \times 4 = 212$

Hence Cost of $1$ metre of cloth is Rs. $212$
