The cost of 3 shirts is Rs. 2424 and of 2 trousers is Rs. 2078. Which is costlier-the shirt or the trouser? And by how much?

Cost of 3 shirts = Rs. 2424
Cost of 1 shirt = Rs. $\frac{2424}{3} = R s . 808$
Cost of 2 trousers = Rs. 2078
Cost of 1 trouser = $\frac{2078}{2} = R s . 1039$
Hence Rs 1039 > Rs 808
$∴$ Trouser is costlier than shirt by
Rs. 1039- Rs. 808 = Rs. 231
