Question

The cost of a toy horse is same as the cost of three balls .

Express the statement in linear equation in two variables.

Open in App
Solution

Let the cost of toy horse = x
and,
the cost of balls =y
as per the question we know that there are 3 balls, then
cost of 3 balls = 3y

therefore our required equation becomes as,
x =3y

We can generalize it as like
x-3y =0
(generalizing is only an option we may not have to generalize if it is not asked, i have generalized it only for better clarification.)
