Cost of petrol to fill the tanker
= ₹102 x 40
₹102 can be written as (100+2). We can calculate 100 x 40 and then add 2 x 40 to the product, for easy and simple calculation.

So ₹102 x 40 = ₹100 x 40 + ₹2 x 40 = ₹(4x1)x1000 + ₹(4x2)x10
= ₹4000 + ₹80
= ₹4080
