The cost of painting the total outside surface of a closed cylinder at Rs 3 per cm2 is Rs 2772. If the height of the cylinder is 2 times the radius, then find its volume.

Given:
Cost of painting the total area of cylinder at
Rs 3 per cm2 is Rs 2772.

Let the radius of cylinder be r and height (h) be 2r.

Total surface area
=Total cost of paintingCost per cm2

=27723=924 cm2

Since, T.S.A of the cylinder
=2πr(r+h)

2πr(r+2r)=924

6πr2=924

r2=924×76×22=49

r=7 cm

h=2r=14 cm

Volume of cylinder
=πr2h

=227×(7)2×14

=2156 cm3

Hence, the volume of the cylinder is 2156 cm3.
