(a) Since the cost is given by C(x)=1200x+5500 and we have to find the cost of 100 tools therefore, substitute x=100 in C(x)=1200x+5500 as follows:

C(100)=1200100+5500=125500 $

(b) Since the cost is given by C(x)=1200x+5500 and we have to find the cost of 101 tools therefore, substitute x=101 in C(x)=1200x+5500 as follows:

C(101)=1200101+5500=126700 $

(c) C(101)C(100)=1200 $

(d) m=1200 $ / (1 tool)

(e) Slope is the increase in the total cost C when the number of tools produced increases by 1 unit.
