Ans) Before the coming of industrialisation in England, small factories functioned in almost every house. Thus it was a time, when small artisans and craftsmen were the main revenue generators of the country. However, after large industries came to be established from the late eighteenth century, moneyed industrialists took over the task of revenue generation. Small handlooms were shut due to the strict competition faced by the finer and cheaper products produced in the factories, Hence, it can be stated that due to the coming of industrial revolution, craftsmen and artists were replaced by capitalists and factory owners.
