This energy difference is the crystal field splitting parameter, delta, also known as 10Dq and has units of /cm. $CN$ produces large value of delta while F produces small values. $\left[Cr\right(CN{)}_6{]}^{3-}\Delta =26,600{cm}^{-1},\left[Cr\right(F{)}_6{]}^{3-}\Delta =15,000{cm}^{-1}$
