Given, radius of pipe R=5 cm
Area of pipe A1=πR2=π(5)2×104 m2
Radius of one fine hole =r=0.1 cm
Area of 10 fine holes = 10×πr2
=10×π(0.1)2×104 m2
Speed of liquid in tube v1=1 m/s
Let speed of ejection of liquid through the holes =v2
Using continuity equation,
A1V1=A2V2
π(5)2×104×(1)=10×π(0.1)2×104×v2
v2=250 m/s
