Vacuoles are extensive, single membrane bound space inside a plant cell that contains cell sap. Most plant cells have a solitary vacuole that takes up a significant part of the cell. It maintains the osmotic balance of the cell ,thus, the cytoplasm with other organelles are pushed towards the periphery
