Let the numerator of the fraction be x
Then, the denominator = x + 1
$\Rightarrow$ Given fraction = $\frac{N}{D}=\frac{x}{x+1}$
According to question $\frac{x-1}{x+1-1}=0.5=\frac{1}{2}$
$\Rightarrow \frac{x-1}{x}=\frac{1}{2}\Rightarrow 2(x-1)=x\Rightarrow 2x-2=x$
$\Rightarrow x=2$
$\therefore$ Given fraction = $\frac{2}{2+1}=\frac{2}{3}$
