The denominator of a fraction is 1 more than twice its numerator. If the numerator and the denominator are both decreased by 1 then the number obtained is 1/3 Find the fraction.

Let the numerator be x
according to the first given condition the fraction will of the form x/(2x+1)

according to the second given chance,
x-1/2x =1/3
=> 3x-3=2x
=> x=3

thus the required fraction is 3/(2*3 +1)
=3/7
