say we have a fraction $\frac{p}{q};q\ne 0$

Given, $a=p+6...\left[1\right]$

Also, $\frac{p+2}{q+2}=\frac{1}{2}$

$\Rightarrow 2P+4=q+2\Rightarrow 2p+2=q...\left[2\right]$

Substituting $\left[1\right]$ in $\left[2\right]$ we get

$2p+2=p+6$

$p=4...\left[3\right]$

Substituting [3] in [2] we get

$q=10$

$\therefore p=4$ $q=10$

$\therefore \frac{p}{q}=\frac{4}{10}$
