Question

The density of 85% Phosphoric acid is 1.70 g cm3. What is the volume of a solution that contains 17 gm Phosphoric acid?

Open in App
Solution

Density = 1.7g/cm3
Mass of solute = 17gm
Let volume required be X ml
Density = massvolume
Mass of solution = volume x density
Mass of solution = 1.7×X
Concentration = massofsolutemassofsolution×100

85=171.7×X×100

x=11.76ML
Conclusion: The volume of the solution that contains 17gm Phosphoric acid is =11.76ml
