Solution

The correct option is A 4.04×109 cm
Density (d)=5.85 g cm3

Molar Mass of Sodium Chloride (m)=58.5g/mol

NA=6.022×1023

Unit Cell Type is FCC, Z=4

We know,
d=(Z×M)(NA×a3)

=>a3=(Z×m)(NA×d)

=>a3=(4×58.5)(6.022×1023×5.85)

=>a3=0.066×1024

=>a=0.404×108

So, edge length of the unit cell of NaCl is 0.404×108 cm.
