The diagonal of a rectangle is 34 cm. If its breadth is 16 cm; find its:

(i) length (ii) area

$A{C}^2=A{B}^2+B{C}^2$ (By Pythagorus theorem)

$(34{)}^2=l^2+(16{)}^2$

$1156=l^2+256$

$l^2=1156-256$

$l^2=900$

$l=\sqrt{900}$

l=30 cm

$\therefore$ area $=l\times b=30\times 16=480c{m}^2$

$\therefore$ (i)30 cm (ii)480 $c{m}^2$
