(i) The cell is in the shrunken state or has become flaccid.
(ii) The plasma membrane acts as a selectively permeable membrane.
(iii) If the cell had been placed in distilled water instead of a strong sugar solution, then it would not have shrunk. It would have become turgid.
(iv) If the cell possessed chloroplast, it would be present in the protoplasm.
(v) A large vacuole is not present in animal cells.
