The correct option is C AM = 2 × AB
A perpendicular bisector can be defined as a line that intersects another line perpendicularly and divides it into two equal parts.
∴ AM = MB --- (1)
Also, AM + MB = AB --- (2)
From (1) and (2), we have:
AM + AM = AB
∴ 2 × AM = AB
Thus, AM = MB = 0.5 × AB --- (3)

From (1), (2), and (3), we can conclude that the statement given in option (c) is not true.
