(i) A - Cerebrum, B - Cerebellum, C - Medulla

(ii) Function of the cerebrum: The cerebrum is the centre of intelligence, memory and emotions.
Function of the cerebellum: The cerebellum coordinates muscular activities and maintains body equilibrium.
Function of the medulla: The medulla controls several involuntary functions of the body, such as breathing, swallowing, coughing, sneezing and vomiting.

(iii) The brain is well protected by cranial meninges, which are made up of an outer layer called dura mater, a thin middle layer called arachnoid and an inner layer called pia mater.

(iv) The neuron is the basic unit of the brain.
