Starch
Plants need the energy to grow. They use energy from sunlight to make a simple sugar, glucose. Plants make starch out of extra glucose, so it's right there when they need it. Starch is the most common carbohydrate in human diets and is contained in large amounts in staple foods such as potatoes, wheat, maize(corn), rice and cassava. The fallowing image shows the starch rich food in our diet.
