Volume is the measure of the space occupied by the matter. Measuring cylinder A has 40 mL of content in it where cylinder B has 80 mL content. On pouring the content if measuring cylinders A and B into cylinder C, the volume of two contents gets added. Thus, volume contained in cylinder C is 40 mL + 80 mL = 120 mL. Letter Z represents the amount of liquid that will be in cylinder C.
