Solution

Finding the perimeter of circle

Given: Diameter =42 cm.

Diameter of circle =2r=42 cm

r=422=21 cm

Perimeter of circle =2π r

=2×227×21

=2×22×3=132 cm.

Finding the radius of new circle

Now, if perimeter of circle is doubled then new perimeter (P) will be equal to,

P=2×132=264 cm

Radius =2642π=2641×722×12

Radius =42 cm

Hence, the perimeter of circle is 132 cm and radius of new circle is 42 cm.
