Question

the diameter of a garden roller is 1.4 m and it is 2m long. how much area it will cover in 4 revolutions?

Open in App
Solution

The garden roller is a cylindrical shaped structure.
The total area covered by it in 1 revolution = curved surface area of the cylinder.

Diameter=1.4m
so,radius,r=0.7m
height,h=2m
area covered in one revolution=c.s.a of roller
=2×pi×r×h
=2×(22/7)×0.7×2
=44/7×1.4
=8.8m^2
so, area covered in 4 revolution=(8.8×4)m^2
=35.2m^2
Hope this helps
