Question

The diameter of a wheel is 1.26cm. What is the distance covered in 500 revolution.

Open in App
Solution

Step 1. Diameter of the wheel =1.26cm

therefore, radius (r)=1.262=0.63cm

Step 2. Find the distance

total distance covered by wheel in 500 revolutions.=circumference of wheel x500

=2πrx500 [Since, circumference of wheel=circumference of circle=2πr]

=2x227x0.63x500=3.96x500=1980cm

Hence, the distance covered by wheel in 500 revolutions is 1980cm.
