Open in App
Solution

T=2years, R=5%p.a,
CISI=Rs5
Let the sum of money lent be x.
Then,
Simple Interest=Rsx×2×5100=Rsx10
Compound Interest:-
Interest for the 1st year=Rsx×5×1100=Rsx20

Amount after the 1st year=Rs x+x20=Rs21x20

Interest for the 2nd year=Rs21x20×5×1100

=Rs21x400

Amount after the 2nd year=Rsx+21x400+21x20
=Rs441400

Then,
41x400x10=541x40x400=5x=Rs 2000

Required sum of money lent=Rs2000.
