The difference between healthy RBCs and those affected by sickle cell anaemia is their colour.
False
In sickle-cell anaemia shape of the RBC changes from biconcave to sickle-shaped under oxygen deficiency. Colour is same for both due to the presence of haemoglobin. These sickle-shaped cells get trapped in the narrow capillaries and obstruct the blood flow. As a result, the body tissues get deprived of oxygen.
