Let the first number be x.

Second number =3x [Since, one number is three times the other]

It is given that, the difference between two numbers is 26.

3xx=26

2x=26

x=262

x=13

So, the first number is 13.

The second number =3x=3×13=39

Hence, the two numbers are 13 and 39.
