x-y= 5
x= 5 +y
x squared= (5 +y) (5 +y)
x squared= (25 + 5y +5y+y squared)
x squared= 25 + 10y+ y squared

x squared minus y squared= 65

25 + 10y = 65
10y = 65-25
10y = 65-25
10y = 40
fraction numerator 10 y over denominator 10 end fraction equals 40 over 10
y=4

x-y= 5
x-4= 5
x= 5+4
x= 9
