The difference in the measures of two complementary angles is 12°.find the measures of the angles?

Open in App
Solution

Two angels are said to be complementary when their sum is 90°
Let one angle be x
then other will be (x -12°)
A/q,
x + ( x-12°) = 90° ( complementary angles)
⇒ 2x - 12°= 90°
⇒2x = 90° + 12°
⇒2x = 102
⇒x = 51°
and (x-12 ) = 51 - 12 = 39°
∴ angles are 39° and 51°
