The difference of two whole number is 56. The ratio of the two number is 3:5. What are the two numbers?

Ratio of two numbers = 3 : 5
Let one number be 3x and the other number be 5x
According to the question,
5x - 3x = 56
2x = 56
Therefore x = 28.

Hence one number is 3 x ( 28) = 84
Other number is 5 x (28) = 140
