The different between to selling prices of a jacket at profits 4 and 5 is Rs.6. Find the
cost price of the jacket

Let the cost of each jacket be Rs.x.
Profit on first jacket =4%(Given)
Therefore,
Selling price of first jacket =x+4100×x=2625x
Profit on second jacket =5%(Given)
Therefore,
Selling price of second jacket =x+5100×x=2120x
Given that the difference between the selling price of the jackets is Rs.6
Therefore,
2120x2625x=6
105x104x100=6
x=600
Hence the cost price of each jacket is Rs.600.
Therefore,
Selling price of first jacket =2625×600=Rs.624
Selling price of second jacket =2120×600=Rs.630
Hence the cost price of each jacket is Rs.600 and the selling price of the two jackets ar Rs.624 and Rs.630 respectively.
