Total surface area of the sheet for one cubodial tin box:

$=2(lb+bh+lh)$

$=2(12\times 10.5+10.5\times 8+12\times 8)$

$=2(126+84+96)=2\left(306\right)=612c{m}^2$

Area of the sheet required to make $20$ tins $=20\times 612=12240c{m}^2$

We know, $10000c{m}^2=1m^2$

$⟹12240c{m}^2=1.224m^2$

$\therefore$ Area required $=1.224m^2$
