The dimensions of a tin box are 12cm×10.5cm×8cm. If 20 such boxes are to be made, find the area of the tin sheet required in m2.

Dimensions of a tin box =12cm×10.5cm×8cm
Here, l=12cm,b=10.5cm,h=8cm.

Total surface area of the sheet for one cubodial tin box:
=2(lb+bh+lh)
=2(12×10.5+10.5×8+12×8)
=2(126+84+96)=2(306)=612cm2

Area of the sheet required to make 20 tins =20×612=12240cm2

We know, 10000 cm2=1 m2
12240 cm2=1.224 m2

Area required =1.224 m2
