The correct option is B 5 Ω
Given,

Pmax=100 mWVoltage drop across diode=0.5 VSupply voltage=1.5 V

P=VI

Current flow through the circuit is, I=PV

I=100×1030.5=0.2 A

Now, the voltage drop across the resistance (R) is,

VR=1.50.5=1 V

VR=IR

1=0.2R

R=5 Ω
