The given equation is 5x26x+1=0 ........... (i)

General form of quadratic equation is given by ax2+bx+c=0 ....... (ii)

Comparing equation (i) with (ii) we have,

a=5,b=6,c=1

The discriminant D is given by

D=b24ac=(6)24(5)(1)=3620=16

Discriminant value is D=16
