Given, y=4 cos2(t2)sin (1000t)
using , cos2(θ2)=1+cosθ2
we get
y=2(1+cost)sin(1000t)
y=2sin(1000t)+2costsin(1000t)
Further, using sin(A+B)sin(AB)=2cosAsinB

y=2sin(1000t)+sin(1001t)+sin(999t)
Above equation suggests that the displacement of particle (y) is superpositon of 3 independent simple harmonic oscillations.
