Solution

The correct option is C 10 m/s
The peak value of amplitude is called crest. The distance between two continuous crests is called wavelength (λ).

Distance between first and third crest, AB=2λ

Now, 2λ=20 cmλ=10 cm=0.1 m

According to the question, the source produces 10 waves in 1 s.

Frequency of the wave, f=10 Hz

Let the velocity of the wave be v.

v=λfv=0.1×10v=1 m/s

Hence, the correct answer is option (c).
