The distance between two places P and Q is 42 km. If Mr A starts from P with a uniform speed of 4 kmph towards Q and Mr B starts from Q towards P with some uniform speed, they meet each other after 6 hours. Find the speed of Mr B.

3 kmph


Let the speed of Mr. B be x kmph.

Distance covered by Mr. B = 6x km and

Distance covered by Mr. A will be = 6 × 4 = 24 km

6x+24=42

6x=18

x=3

So, the speed of B = 3 kmph.
