The correct option is B $1 : 3$
Total energy $T . E . = \frac{- G M m}{2 r}$
Now Total energy for $p, T_{p} = \frac{- G M m}{2 r_{p}}$
similarly $T_{q} = \frac{- G M m}{2 r_{q}}$
Taking the ratio we get $, \frac{T_{p}}{T_{q}} = \frac{- G M m}{2 r_{p}} \times \frac{2 r_{q}}{- G M m} = \frac{r_{q}}{r_{p}}$ . Given $\frac{r_{p}}{r_{q}} = 3$ .
Therefore, $\frac{T_{p}}{T_{q}} = \frac{1}{3}$
