The duration of a lunar eclipse is longer than a solar eclipse.
True
A Lunar Eclipse lasts around for three hours. Solar Eclipses last shorter than lunar eclipses because of these reasons:
(i) The moon only creates a small shadow on the earth.
(ii) As seen from the earth, the size of the sun is very small. Since it is comparable to the size of the moon as seen from the earth, when the moon is revolving around the earth, they are in the same line for a short period of time.
