The electrical gadgets used in a house such as bulbs, fans, heater, etc are always connected in parallel, not in series because of the following reason.
(i)In parallel connection voltage across each appliance is the same.
(ii) In series, if one appliance fails then the whole circuit is broken and hampers the working of other appliances.
