All the elements show toxic effect. Hg causes mercury poisoning. A common disease is Minamata disease which occurs due to high exposure to methylmercury. Similarly, intake of arsenic-rich water results in thickened and darker skin, abdominal pain, vomiting and even leads to cancer. Intake of high doses of Zn leads to vomiting, nausea, cramps etc.
