Solution

The correct option is B C6H12O6
Calculating molecular formula of the compound

The empirical formula is CH2O.

And molecular formula can be written as

=(CH2O)n

=CnH2nOn

Now, 0.0835 mol of compound contains 1 g of hydrogen.

Thus 1 mol of compound contains
10.0835i.e.,12 g of H.

12 g of hydrogen signifies that in 1 mol compound, 12 hydrogen atom are present.

Since molecular formula is CnH2nOn

Thus, 2n=12

n=6

Hence, molecular formula is C6H12O6

So, option (b) is the correct answer.
