In the given figure, the firt layer comprises of black spheres and the second layer comprises of red spheres.
Here, the second layer is placed over the voids of first layer. Thus, it forms both tetrahedral and octahedral voids.
In point A, the void is covered by four spheres which forms a tetrahedron shapes on connecting the spheres. Thus, these voids are called tetrahedral voids.
