The energy produced during respiration is stored in
Glucose is broken down to pyruvic acid in cytoplasm and few ATPs are formed. Thereafter pyruvate is taken into mitochondria and broken down in krebs cycle to release lots of enery and lots of ATPs are formed. ATP is the energy currency of cells. When energy is released from respiration, ADP combines with an inorganic phosphate to from ATP and energy is stored in the form of ATP.
