The correct option is C 1.9 eV
The energy of an electron in nth energy level is
= 13.6×Z2n2

Here, Z=1 for hydrogen atom

Hence E2 = 13.622 = 3.4 eV
and E3 = 13.632 = 1.51 eV

Hence energy required for electron to be taken from the second orbit to the third orbit
= E3E2
= 1.51(3.4) eV
= 1.89 eV
which is approximately 1.9 eV.
