Given:
At t=0, y=11+x2
or x=1yy=x1
At t=2 s, y=1[1+(x1)2]
or x=1+1yy=x2

Since the shape of the wave doesn't change during propagation, we can find velocity of the wave by calculating the distance travelled by a point having certain displacement y in given time interval.
v=x2x1t2t1=1+1yy1yy20=12=0.5 m/s
