The correct option is B x152+y12=1
We know that the equation of a line making intercept a and b on the x-axis and y-axis respectively is given by
xa+yb=1 ...(1)
Let the line intersect the x-axis at A and y-axis at B as shown in figure .Let point C(5,4) lies on the line AB and divides it in ration 1:2
Therefore by section formulae, we have
1.0+2.a1+2=5 and
0+2a3=5 and b+03=4
2a=15 and b=12
a=152 and b=12
Therefore from (1), we have
x152+y12=1
